Christy Abrams, Hard of Hearing Specialist with the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (ACDHH), will share information and resources for living well with hearing loss. Her presentation will include her personal story, the importance of communication strategies and the emotional impact of hearing loss. Participants will receive an overview of ACDHH and the Arizona Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program (AzTEDP), which provides FREE telecommunications equipment such as amplified phones, Bluetooth options, speech devices, and signaling/flashing/vibrating alerting devices. This equipment is provided at no cost to U.S. citizens who reside in the state of Arizona and are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind/CVHL, or Speech-Impaired, regardless of income.
